Green Hills is located in the southwest region of Portland, a quiet, serene neighborhood. Portland's city center is only a quick 15 miles away from Green Hills making the commute and city amenities rather convenient. This neighborhood is quiet, peaceful and filled with nature's beauty. Albert Kelly Park and Hamilton Park consist of 22 acres of the 34 acres of parkland and plenty of trail offerings to get out and enjoy nature.
Most of Green Hills consists of residential properties with very few restaurants and shops, but that's okay because to the south of this neighborhood is the Beaverton-Hillside highway that is bustling with restaurants and shops. Even though Green Hills has so many trails, the walkability of Green Hills is not rated very well because if you don't have a vehicle, getting to restaurants and shops are very difficult. This neighborhood is a tight knit community that focuses on nature and keeping their green spaces well maintained.
Schools in Green Hills
Portland Public School District serves the residents of Green Hills with wonderful educational opportunities. According to Greatschools.org, Ainsworth Elementary School and Bridlemile Elementary School received a 9/10 rating, Lincoln High School was given an 8/10 rating, Gray Middle School a rating of 7/10 and Lincoln High School and Wilson High School received a rating of 5/10. All of these schools give above average or average ratings. The higher ratings for these schools may be partially because of the smaller class sizes that they offer. While the state average for student to teacher ratio is twenty students to one teacher, most of these schools have less, as low as fourteen to one can be seen.

Homes in Green Hills mostly consist of bungalows and ranch style houses, although there are some two story and higher end homes. Home prices tend to get more expensive the higher uphill you go. Building a home in Green Hills can be challenging due to the uneven terrain, building alongside a hill. The homes are spacious and have nice sized yards for the kids and the tree-lined streets make this area much more attractive. Most of these gorgeous homes have amazing views of the valley or coast, excellent yards and beautiful gardens throughout. This neighborhood offers peace and quiet, away from the busy city but, easily within grasp to enjoy the city's amenities.
