Hillside is a neighborhood in Northwest Portland, the narrow winding streets snake through the neighborhood with homes overlooking the streets below. Hillside is one of the best places in Oregon to call home, residents consist mostly of young professionals and retirees. Beautiful homes and scenery are found throughout the neighborhood and on the east side, many have an amazing view of downtown Portland and Mt. Hood. Hillside has so much to offer the residents and visitors, if not immediately in the neighborhood, in close proximity. Conveniently located to many major attractions such as the Oregon Zoo, the World Forestry Center, the Portland Children's Museum, the Portland Japanese Gardens, the Portland Rose Gardens, the Vietnam Veterans and Oregon Holocaust Memorials. There is an abundance of parks all within walking or biking distance offering various amenities giving residents an opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors; Washington Park, Hillside Park, Portland Heights Park, Macleay Park, Forest Park, Marquam Nature Park and Holman Property (natural area).
TriMet offers local bus service to downtown Portland and nearby areas or the MAX light rail service is also available. Hillside is approximately a 40 minute drive to downtown Portland and about an hour drive from Portland International Airport. Biking and walking is highly encouraged when possible.

Portland Public Schools offers the Hillside neighborhood with public education opportunities. According to Greatschools.org, West Sylvan Middle School received a rating of 9/10, Lincoln High School was rated 8/10 and Chapman Elementary School was given a 5/10 rating. Some of Portland Public Schools finest schools are offered to Hillside residents, the advantage to being a part of this school district is residents can choose to attend a different school within the district as long as there is an opening available.
