Alameda Real Estate Market

Homes in Alameda vary from Craftsmen, Tudor, cottage, foursquare, colonial, and bungalow. Mostly found in Alameda are single-family homes, medium in size with three to four bedrooms, but there are also smaller studios and two-bedroom homes. There are also plenty of apartment complexes and high-rise apartments available to rent in Alameda. Most of the homes in Alameda would be considered relatively historic as they were built between 1939 and 1969.

Some residents along the Alameda Ridge can lay claim to enviable sweeping views of downtown, the Willamette River, and the Cascade Mountains. Alameda is a gorgeous neighborhood with quiet, tree-lined streets and some gorgeous homes, many on larger lots. Alameda overlaps on one side with Irvington, also an older historical neighborhood with grand homes.

Quiet tree-lined streets and stunning homes on large lots in this gorgeous neighborhood are a big attraction to this area. Approximately 85% of Alameda residents live within half a mile of one of three area parks: Wilshire Park, Grant Park, and Irving Park. In Alameda, there are plenty of parks, shops, restaurants, brewpubs and coffee shops to enjoy. As an added bonus, a quick 15-minute drive will take you to downtown Portland.

One of the best and very common ways to travel around Alameda is biking, as trails are available in most areas to allow safe access. This neighborhood is popular for biking and strolling in as the streets do not get heavy traffic. There are hidden stairways along the ridge, which helps pedestrians navigate the ridge to get to the Irvington neighborhood below. Although the majority of Alameda residents choose to travel by private car, other options are still within reach. Alameda has public transportation available through bus service to assist people wanting to get around Alameda and other area cities.

Students usually attend schools in the Portland Public Schools district.
