Royal Oaks Country Club

Royal Oaks Country Club is one of Vancouver’s best private golf and country clubs. Located in the Oakbrook neighborhood, this beautifully manicured 18-hole golf course is rated the fifth best in Washington state. 

Royal Oaks’ 18-hole layout is a challenging, tree-lined course with a smooth, fast-rolling green. Trees overhang the fairways and block some angles on this par-72 course. Royal Oaks opened in 1947 and has hosted Northwest tournaments, including the Pacific Northwest Golf Association Amateur, where Tiger Woods won in 1994. 

Golfers can train at Royal Oaks’ practice areas and driving range or take private or group lessons. Royal Oaks’ award-winning golf shop sells and fits top-of-the-line golf gear with discounts for members. 

If you love a country club scene, Royal Oaks’ Clubhouse checks that box. The Clubhouse has casual and formal indoor and outdoor dining with a view of the golf course. Their large swimming pool has a lazy river for floating, a hot tub, a children’s wading pool, and a snack bar. There is also a fitness center that overlooks the ninth green.

Royal Oak’s Oakbrook neighborhood of Vancouver is known for lush green spaces, parks, and playgrounds. Residents are six miles from the city center and close to local shopping and restaurants at Vancouver Plaza, Vancouver Mall, and Andresen Plaza. 

Fairway Village Golf Course

Southwest Washington and Portland golfers regard Fairway Village Golf Course as one of the best wet-weather courses in the area. This “hidden gem” nine-hole public golf course is five minutes from Highway 14 in central Vancouver.

Designed in 1982, Fairway Village is a par-34 course. The course plays to 2,500 yards with three sets of tees for nine or 18-hole play. Golfers can practice warm-up, swing, chip, and putt at Fairway Village’s practice areas. 

Facilities include a golf shop, which carries gear and sells refreshments. Fairway Village’s members-only clubhouse has a swimming pool, gym, dance hall, games room, library, and TV room. It also organizes clubs and schedules daily activities for residents.

Fairway Village is owned and managed by the Fairway Village Homeowner’s Association, a 55+ senior-living community surrounding the golf course. 

Club Green Meadows

The Club Green Meadows golf course is a private 18-hole course that winds through the Green Meadows neighborhood, bordered by Highway 205 in northern Vancouver. Its par-72 championship layout is approximately 6,500 yards long and features narrow, tree-lined fairways and small, tricky greens. 

Club Green Meadows tennis facility has seven indoor courts and one outdoor viewing court. Its tennis program is directed by USPTA professionals and includes leagues, lessons, junior programs, and tennis events. 

Club Green Meadows offers athletics and recreation opportunities unique to Vancouver. Its eight indoor hard courts and nine indoor wooden courts host pickleball, basketball, racquetball, handball, and squash. They also offer dance, yoga, fitness classes, an indoor track, billiards, and ping pong tables. Take a dip in the indoor or outdoor swimming pools, then enjoy the sauna, steam room, or whirlpool. 

Camas Meadows Golf Club

Camas Meadows Golf Club is an 18-hole par-72 golf course tucked away in the forested wetlands near the shores of Lacamas Lake between Vancouver and Camas. It's 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver.

This challenging 6,571-yard championship design combines narrow tree-lined fairways and grassy meadows. It's the only public golf course in southwest Washington with a lighted and heated driving range.

Golf instruction for all experience levels, including a specialized golf academy for youth golfers, is available.

Camas Meadows’ in-house restaurant, Hickory Restaurant + Bar, is the perfect spot to unwind after a round of golf. Its casual, New American cuisine is open for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch and has a full-service bar. Hickory’s large outdoor patio and cozy fireplace have panoramic views over the 18th green.

The small city of Camas lies along the Washington side of the Columbia River, across from Troutdale, Oregon, and is part of the Portland metropolitan area. It has a population of 26,000.

Orchard Hills Golf and Country Club

Orchard Hills Golf and Country Club opened in 1932 on an old prune orchard site. This private 18-hole regulation-length golf course in central Washougal, Washington, is a bluegrass course, 5,896 yards long from the longest tees for a par of 70. A practice pitching green, putting green, and two-tee driving range up the challenge when training.

Orchard Hills has one of the driest winter courses in the area because they aerify and topdress their fairways every fall with 450 tons of sand. Hoping to encourage families to embrace the game of golf, junior and family programs operate from mid-March to mid-October. 

The Orchard Hills Clubhouse’s restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and hosts social events year-round.

The town of Washougal has a population of about 17,000 and lies on the banks of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. It's 20 minutes to Vancouver and 30 minutes to downtown Portland. 

Columbia Edgewater Country Club

There are several high-profile golf and country clubs in Portland, but one of the most scenic is the Columbia Edgewater Country Club. Founded in 1925, Columbia Edgewater is a private course with an 18-hole par-71 design overlooking the Columbia River. 

For the 12th year in a row, Columbia Edgewater Country Club was named one of America’s top 50 private golf facilities. It has hosted many Pacific Northwest, PGA, and LPGA tour events.

Columbia Edgewater offers a variety of training options. Their driving range has an expansive grass tee, and the short-game practice area has a 14,000-square-foot target green and four practice bunkers. Columbia Edgewater offers a nine-hole par-3 course that can be looped in one hour. Golf instruction by PGA teaching professionals and a golf simulator are available to members and non-members. 

Columbia Edgewater’s junior program hosts summer camps, with an end-of-summer junior club championship and a PGA family cup tournament. 

Columbia Edgewater sits on the banks of the Columbia River in the East Columbia neighborhood of Portland. East Columbia has a blend of waterfront homes, houseboats, industrial development, and nature preserves like the Columbia Children’s Arboretum. 

Tri-Mountain Golf Course

Tri-Mountain Golf Course in the town of Ridgefield, Washington, sits in a valley at the base of three mountains:  Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Hood. This outstanding rural vista, plus 11 lakes and 64 sand bunkers, make Tri-Mountain a challenging yet stunning course.

Tri-Mountain has a full driving range, practice chipping and pitching green, and a nine-hole putting course. PGA junior league and junior golf camps cater to young golfers and help instill a love of golf. Lessons are also available for adults of any skill level.

Facilities at Tri-Mountain include The Grill, a full-service restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner year-round. The clubhouse and covered patio host groups of up to 125.

Mint Valley Golf Course

In the late 1970s, the City of Longview transformed 130 acres of mint fields into the Mint Valley Golf Course. Since then, Mint Valley has developed into a friendly, challenging public course that prides itself on being a good golf value.

This 18-hole par-71 championship course plays 6,432 yards from the back tees and 5,230 yards from the forward tees. The well-bunkered greens, water hazards, and tall trees will test every skill level. Mint Valley has a six-hole, par-3 course with holes ranging from 50 to 90 yards and a covered, lighted driving range with grass and artificial tees.

Every spring, Mint Valley’s youth program introduces younger kids to golf. Older youth can participate in Mint Valley’s summer lessons. Adult beginner and advanced lessons are also available.

Refuel at Moe’s at the Mint Restaurant, which is open all week and can accommodate 50-100 people inside and outside. The fully stocked pro shop rents golf carts and does club fittings and repairs.

Mint Valley Golf Course is in the Mint Valley neighborhood in Longview. Situated at the confluence of the Columbia, Cowlitz, and Coweeman Rivers, the city of Longview has a population of 38,000. It's 50 miles north of Portland, Oregon.
