The Most Creative Financing Ever: Trading a House for a Paper Clip
Posted on: August 24, 2007
I love this story. It is inspiring, funny, and heart warming. If you are feeling like you can’t do something, this is the story you need to see and read. It is the story of Kyle McDonald who decided one day to see if he could play his favorite childhood game, Bigger and Better, in the “real” world by starting with one red paperclip and ending up with a house. Well, he did it; and it ended up more of a life journey than about the end result—making it an even better story. The full story is published in the New York Times under Trading Up From Red Paper Clip to White Picket Fence. It’s a well written description of the events, but I recommend watching the ABC report before reading the article. It will keep you on the edge of your seat if you don’t already know the details. The article does a fantastic follow-up to the video. And when you fall in love with the story as much as I did, BUY THE BOOK! “One Red Paperclip” hit the stands this week.
Here is the ABC Segment:
I hope you enjoy this as much as I have.
