Looking for an Open House

Posted on: May 25, 2007

If you are looking to spend your day checking out Open Houses in your local area, there are several options to find where they are being held. Local Newspapers used to be the best, and at one time the only, way to find Open house information. Now that we know the internet is not a passing fad, we can look to it to aid us in our search for an Open House. One way to find an Open House in the area is to simply do a web search for it going to your preferred search engine and typing in “Open House” along with the area you are looking in, i.e. “Gresham Open House.” The search will most likely show results from Realtor websites that advertise their personal Open House. The results from this search will vary depending on the number of agents in the area with personal websites.

When I am holding an Open House, I have found that one of the best sites for advertising my listing is Craigslist.com. Once in the site you can simply search for an Open House in the area of your choice and you will be supplied with the details on the home, the listing agent and, the address. Now of course the Newspapers and internet are not the only way to find an Open House, you could just hop in your car and drive around the area you are thinking of moving to, but with gas at over $3 a gallon this may not be the most cost effective method.
