Fish for Free this Weekend

Get out those fishing poles, and get ready for great family fun this weekend. Oregon and Washington offer FREE FISHING weekend throughout both states. Read all about it in the Statesman Journal.

What:

Free Fishing Weekend is this Saturday and Sunday in Oregon and Washington.

Which means:

No fishing license or tags (including a shellfish license) are required to fish, clam or catch crabs in either state.

Disclaimer:

All rules such as size, daily bag and possession limits, open areas, legal fishing hours and gear and tackle restrictions are in force.

In Oregon:

If you have a license and combined-harvest (salmon/ steelhead/sturgeon/halibut) card, you need to fill it out if you catch a fish.

In Washington:

You have to fill out a catch record card. Those are available free at all license agents in Washington.
