Southeast Portland
Southeast Portland is east of the Willamette River, south of Burnside Street, north of Clackamas County, and west of Gresham.
Most locals would agree, Southeast Portland envelopes a much more “laid back” lifestyle than its western counterpart. Inner Southeast Portland is a colorful, liberal minded, eclectic mix of hippies, hipsters, and families. Communities here are chock full of coffee shops, bistros, and independent quirky shops. Murals and sidewalk art complete the fun hip vibe of this area. Homes here are typically older Arts and Crafts and smaller bungalow styles, many restored to their original character.
Outer Southeast neighborhoods are a blend of affordable modest homes, charming Craftsman styles, and custom newer contruction ranging up into the millions. With 82nd Ave nearby and several shopping malls, outer Southeast is close to everything. First time home buyers and investors can still find deals in the area, while those looking for spectacular views and large custom homes (both old and new) will enjoy the serenity of Mt Tabor and the bustle on Mt Scott.
