Hosford- Abernathy

The Hosford-Abernethy include the Brooklyn, Buckman, and Richmond neighborhoods, as well as the Willamette River.

The Hosford-Abernathy community is a diverse mixture of industrial, commercial, and residential areas. Along the Willamette River you will find the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry mixed in with old industrial buildings and urban renewal projects. Quirky coffee shops, salons, and restaurants are popping up all over the place, turning this spot into a new “Pearl”. Located just south of the Hawthorne District, and right across the river from Downtown, Hosford-Abernathy is close to everything!

Part of this neighborhood contains the area known to Portlanders as Ladd’s Addition, a unique historic residential area with cool traffic circles, rose gardens, giant elms and fabulous homes. The homes in this area are impressive examples of Old Portland architecture with Victorians, Arts and Crafts, and Portland bungalows.
